Henry, a retired computer engineer and 54-year resident of Phoenix, AZ, passed away October 1 at the age of 95. As a World War II Veteran, he embodied all the qualities of the greatest generation.
Henry is survived by his daughter Pamela (Stephen), his grandson Devin, and his beloved dog Jacques. He is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy, parents Fred and Edith, brothers Ted and Robert, and sister Marion.
Henry was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on May 2, 1922, to Fred and Edith Gardner. He graduated from Strong Vincent High School and entered the Navy in the Fall of 1944 and earned the rank of Electronic Technician's Mate, Second Class. He always had a positive outlook and kind heart and will be deeply missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and all who knew him.

I saw Don and Jacques almost daily when I was out walking my dog, Bella. Now and then, we'd stop and chat and I'd hear some stories about his life in the Navy. Such a kind man and very much the gentleman. He is so missed in our neighborhood!
