Paul A. Turner, of Ozark, went to be with the Lord Thursday morning, October 19, 2017. He was 78.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Crosby and Rev. Harold Altman officiating. Burial will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time on Friday.

Mr. Turner was born April 6, 1939 in Andalusia and spent the early years of his life in Union Springs. He served four years in the U. S. Navy and later moved to Ozark. He was employed as a helicopter inspector for many years at Ft. Rucker prior to his retirement in 2001. Mr. Turner was a jack of all trades and enjoyed woodworking, building things, mechanic work and working with electricity.

He is predeceased by two grandchildren, Eric Chandler and Vincent Turner, and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Nancy Turner of Ozark; a son, Paul Turner (Sandy) of Dothan; a daughter, Jeannie Johnston (Jerry) of Huntsville; Rebecca Chandler of Ozark; grandchildren, Jessica Eubanks, Justin Johnston, Josh Johnston, Claire Chandler and LeaAnda Turner; four sisters, Coletha Moore, Priscilla Coleman, Rita Barnes and Linda Lee Kilpatrick; a brother, David Turner; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Nancy I am so sorry to hear about Paul's passing. It's been many years since I saw Paul but I remember he was a very kind man, loved his family and would always put a smile on your face. And heaven has been blessed with that kind soul and I have no doubt he's putting a smile on all the souls around him. RIP paul
