My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Birt family and all those he loved.
I had the honor and pleasure of being introduced to Pat many years ago through a mutual friend. He immediately made me feel like I had known him my entire life. He was one of the warmest, kindest, funniest people I have ever met. He was so thoughtful to me and my daughter giving his time to take her to Father Daughter dances at her school, so she could feel special! I will never forget his selfless and giving heart. He was truly one of a kind and will be missed.

Charlotte and Vernon. you may not remember me but I worked for Bill Hilton at American Mutual where you Vernon worked with us. And Karen you may remember me and my daughter Megan from Dance Unlimited, which were great years. I remember taking you home a few times when your car was not working or something. The thing is that I have at one time been known and knew you and I cannot tell you how sorry I am to hear this news. I am so very sorry for all of you and will pray for you all. Linda Ridgeway Rumph

To one of my best friends through the years, I've had but a few. Life was greater when we were with you. Your laugh, your hair, your smile and your voice, to lose you so soon was nobody's choice.
I met you at my house party when you charged me a fee to enter my own backyard, which was usually free. And over the years we trampled this earth, to begin today without you is truly a first.
My heart is heavy and my eyes a weeping mess, I think of our friendship, you were the best...
...Man at my wedding, the toast we never forgot. The singing and dancing in clubs and at bars, Look down upon us now as you ascend into the stars.
We will grieve for a bit, it will hurt and we'll cry. We'll all look forward to the day when we hear your familiar voice, calling us near.
Cuz we'll sing and dance and drink a cold beer.
Later Chilli, from friends far and near!

Angie, Mr and Mrs Brit and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Patrick was a most amazing person, a kind and gentle man who could light up a room, which he often did when he came to my house for parties/celebrations.

I am devastated to hear of Patrick's passing. I worked with him at St. Francis where he selflessly volunteered every Friday to help us in PACU and he was such a joy to be around. His amazing sense of humor and genuine kindness will be greatly missed. A true Charleston boy, born & raised, he always treated everyone with the utmost respect. Every Friday I would be greeted with "Hey, Miss Kelly! How's your morning been?" I will be praying for his family, especially Angie and his precious fur baby, Stella. Find comfort in the fact that he is at peace, smiling down on all of us, and that we will be reunited again someday. Rest in peace, my friend!
