Elizabeth Davies Hamilton, 80, of Harrisonburg passed away on October 17, 2017.

She was born on January 31, 1937 in Lewiston, Maine and was the daughter of the late Howard and Amy Rankin Davies.

Elizabeth graduated from Deering High School in Portland, Maine and Gorham State Teachers College also in Maine. She spent her early life in Maine and after obtaining her bachelor's degree moved to Connecticut where she was married and taught elementary school for several years. She and her husband had two sons and raised them in Connecticut before moving to Harrisonburg 30 years ago.

Elizabeth was a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church, and she enjoyed working in her flower garden and watching birds.

On January 27, 1962 she married Clark B. Hamilton, who survives.

Also surviving are her two sons, Thomas Hamilton of Deep River, CT and Edward Hamilton of Fairbanks, AK; and a granddaughter, Sofia Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by a brother Edward Davies.

Honoring her wishes, she will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 3, 2017 at Strite Auditorium in the Crestwood Building at VMRC. She will be laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, CT at a later date.
