Rita Hensley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 21, 2017.

Rita Dawn (Campbell) Hensley of Levelland, passed away October 20, 2017. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017, from 6 to 8 pm at George Price Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 24, 2017, at 10am at George Price Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery. William Eudy and Elgin Conner will officiate the services. She was born in Lubbock, TX, on September 19, 1948 to Wilson and Helen Campbell. They lived west of Ropesville, TX, until 1961 when they moved to Levelland, so Rita could attend Special Education classes. She graduated later through Special Ed. She married Ernest Hensley June 9, 1998, and then they later divorced. Rita was a member of Cactus Drive Church of Christ. She loved her church family dearly, rightfully so, as they did various and odd things to help her. She loved the Lord, her family and her pets (cats and dogs). She is preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her sister, Sharon (Monroe) Schulz of Levelland and her brother, Tharon of La Barge, WY; nephews, Mike (Jamie) McCann; Michele (Gary) Bennet; Tami (Michael) Stetanatos; Laura (Laudie) Tyler; Josh (Jorie) Gerik; Kyle (Meagan); great nieces and nephews, Keith (Rachel); Kerry; Mika; Kasey; Michael; Anastasia; Sullie; Hudson; Ellis; Corbin and Griffen; great-great niece and nephews, Makayla; Logan; Weston and Wyatt; and her beloved cats Baby and Sissy.

So sorry hear of Rita death . When we lived in Levelland, we took her to church.
. She would call often just to talk. She was special person to me. When we moved to Katy I talked to her often on the phone.

I was very sad to her about Rita. I spoke to her very briefly on her birthday. She kept in touch when I moved back Texas and to Levelland. I remember us playing together lots when we were kids and country neighbors at Ropes.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
