Claude Regnard
Claude was born in Sissonne, France on September 22, 1933 to René and André Regnard and passed away in Elk Grove, California October 25, 2017. As a young man Claude served for two years in the Foreign Legion in France. Fascinated by the American life and the silver screen, Claude decided to make his way to the United States. In 1961 he boarded the Queen Mary and landed in the ports of New York and with $300 in his pocket headed to North Dakota where the couple who sponsored him were awaiting his arrival. The weather was not a good fit for Claude and after three months he left for Sacramento and found employment with the State of California where he worked for 25 years before retirement. Claude spent the past 15 years in Elk Grove and found enjoyment in the finer things in life including fine dining. He was captivated by the Tsars of Russia and in recent years found time for sailing, cruising and travel. Claude loved music and art, especially his tsar collectibles. His favorite saying was "Que sera sera, whatever will be will be." Claude is survived by his dear friend Anthony and extended family in France. Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday, November 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Rose Catholic Church, 5961 Franklin Blvd. Sacramento, California. Entombment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 6509 Fruitridge Rd. Sacramento, California. Arrangements by Nicoletti, Culjis & Herberger Funeral Home.

Anthony
Claude, was a wonderful friend when today true friends are rarities. If you have one or a few, cherish them. He was a true Frenchman but very much American at heart. His absence is already missed. See you in the morning my dear friend.
