James W. Hancock ,84, of Summerville, husband of Ruth Parrish Hancock, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, October 25, 2017. The relatives and friends of James Hancock are invited to attend his graveside services on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 11 am at CAROLINA PARK. The family will receive friends Saturday at the funeral home from 10 am to 11am.
James was born in Augusta, GA , a son of the late Charles and Inez Hancock.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, taxidermy and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an electronics technician for many years, retiring from the FAA.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth P. Hancock, daughters: Angie Storey (Bobby), Wanda Elrod (Dan), Debbie Dietrich (Wayne), son : James Hancock Jr (Charlene), 13 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Charles A. Hancock and William C. Hancock and a granddaughter: Jessica Marie.
