Joseph E. (Joe) Wheby
Pam,
I was away all of last week after my Aunt passed, so I am just now finding out about Steve's passing. As such, I am writing this with a heavy heart as I try to let you and your family know how much Steve did for me as an apprentice Electrician in the Quantico Electric Shop and how much I owe to him for showing me what he knew and helping me on my way to being a Quantico Electrician and, subsequently, a licensed Virginia Master Electrician. He did so much for me, everybody in the Electric Shop and all of his customers at Quantico Marine Corps Base. I cannot express strongly enough how much respect I have for Steve and his willingness to help anybody who needed it.
I will never forget him; and I will always be grateful for what he passed on to me during my career at Quantico.
I hope you can find peace and solace in knowing that Steve is not going to be forgotten by a fellow Quantico Electrician who has moved on to Engineering, but still respects Steve immensely for the time we had together responding to electrical equipment trouble calls at Quantico, the repair skills he taught me and the supervision he gave. Be proud of him. I still am.
God Bless you and your family during this difficult time.
