Stephen D. Jordan, 65, of Powderly, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, at his home.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled services for 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 2nd, at the pavilion of Long Cemetery with Rev. Mark Hutchison officiating. The family will receive friends at the pavilion from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
Stephen, the son of I. D. and Foy Dunmon Jordan, was born Jan. 29, 1952, in Paris.
He attended Powderly schools and served our country in the Texas National Guard.
He, along with his brothers, Keith and Philip, owned and operated Jordan Brothers Saddlery. In addition he was a carpenter and a musician.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nell Marie Ashford in 1967, and two brothers, Philip Jordan in 1996 and Keith Jordan in 2006.
Survivors include his wife, DeRhon Tatum Jordan whom he married on May 14, 1988, a brother, Shawn Jordan & wife Vicki of Powderly, a sister-in-law, Debra Jordan of Powderly, step-children, Ena McDonald and Mitzi Boehler both of Paris and Chance Ballard of Porter along with several nieces & nephews and a host of friends.
Stephen was loved by so many for his kind nature and sense of humor.
Casket bearers will be: Ivan Jordan, Philip “Skip” Jordan II, Josh Jordan, Shane Saffell, Scott Tatum, Ty Jordan, Matthew M. Tatum, Jesus Herrera and Alex Ramos.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: The American Cancer Society, 250 Williams St. NW, Atlanta, GA 30303.
