Rosita Dolores Lunsford, 91, of Sanford passed away on October 29, 2017 in her home. Dolores was born on October 27, 1926 in Mindanao, Philippines; the daughter of Miguel and Susana Martinez. She married her late husband Henry C. Lunsford, Jr. in 1954, sharing 57 years until his passing in 2011. She and her family moved to Florida in 1967. As a young woman she worked as an IBM Key Punch Operator, an office clerk, a beautician, and a CNA. But the roles she loved most were wife and mother.
Dolores leaves behind her daughter, Vanessa Tinsley and her husband Mark of Homestead, Florida, three granddaughters Tiffany Tinsley Weeks and her husband Bryan of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Diana Tinsley of Palm Coast, Florida, Julie Tinsley of Warner Robbins AFB, Georgia, three great grandchildren Nariah Tinsley, Mycah and Judah Weeks; as well as her sisters Teria and Vanessa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Henry, a brother Cesario and a sister Francesca.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and an hour prior to services Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn chapel in Sanford. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Sunday November 5, 2017, with burial to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Orlando. Rosita’s family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bridge to Hope (bridgetohope.net) or Shady Grove Baptist Church Mission (Philippines) C/O Deacon James Fincher 502 Stewart’s Mill Road East Dublin GA 31027.
