Aileen Margaret Moran Cash, 96, of Staunton passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 at Brookdale Senior Living Center, Staunton.
Born August 21, 1921 in Vesuvius, she was the daughter of the late Homer Franklin and Nora Lee (Bartley) Cash.
Aileen was a member of Jollivue United Methodist Church, Staunton. She worked for both Grief and Genesco Companies for 26 years. Aileen sewed privately for many people and made lots of pretty quilts but most of all she loved to go to church. Those who love her will remember her beautiful singing voice and that she had the ability to make friends with anyone she met.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Cecil Moran; four brothers, Hansford Cash, Thurman Cash, Albert Cash and Charles Cash; four sisters, Ollie Garza, Della Holaway, Annie Phillips and Mary Hart; stepson, Jerry Cash; stepdaughter, Patsy Hamiliton .
Survivors include her loving husband, Earl Bryant Cash of Staunton; sisters, Lillian Heatwole and Martha Newcomer; special niece, Cindy "Sissy" Doyle and husband, Danny; stepchildren, Earl David Cash and wife, Violet and Joyce Thompson; as well as a number of nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Jollivue United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sarah Payne officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Vernon Thompson, Larry Heatwole, Bobby Cash, Danny Doyle, Jeffrey Humphries and John Hildebrand.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Staunton Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes, 18 W. Frederick St.
Those desiring may make memorial donations in Aileen's memory to Jollivue United Methodist Church, 551 Lee Jackson Highway, Staunton, VA 24401.
