Rose M. (Fosnaugh) Vandermark, 88, of Lancaster, passed away Friday October 27, 2017 at Main Street Terrace Care Center. Rose was born July 4, 1929, the daughter of the late Homer L. and Viola (Rush) Fosnaugh Sr. She was a seamstress and had a foster home for childcare for many years for Fairfield County Children's Services. Rose enjoyed going to Amish Country, working outside, sewing, painting and decorating in her home and helping her children do the same.
Rose is survived by her children, daughter, Bonnie (Raymond "Wink") Bougher Jr.; son, Paul (Alice) Vandermark of Lancaster; granddaughter, Lauren (Jason) Carnicelli of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Madge Plank of Lancaster, brother-in-law Jonas Vandermark of Wadsworth, many nieces and nephews; good friends, Tom and Sue Smith; and her two furry loves, Sophie and Jack.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Eugene "Vandy" Vandermark; her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Homer L. (Virginia) Fosnaugh Jr.; sister, Mary Margaret Fosnaugh.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Raddatz officiating. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 12 to 2 Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude's Hospital, FairHoPe Hospice or the Fairfield County Humane Society in Rose's name.
The family warmly wants to thank Dr. Brian Varney, Main Street Terrace Care Center Staff and FairHoPe Hospice for their compassionate and loving care for Rose.
