I have nothing but the fondest memories of Aunt Kitty. She was a beautiful lady with a wonderful sense of humor and a delight to be around. Her very Virginian accent made her all the more charming. She had a disarming way of pulling you in close and making you a part of her inner circle. She may have even revealed a few secrets. I'm keeping those in my pocket. I must say she was a great judge of men. Kitty always greeted me with, Hello, Handsome! and gave me a kiss. Sure she said it to all her nephews, but, what a wonderful way to make you feel special. Mike and Nancy my memories of your mother are golden. My heart goes out to you.

Michael and Nancy,
I have many good memories of being a friend of Kitty's. We met as new employees at Poquoson High School. Soon we became good friends and ate lunch together every day. Jimmy began to send us a banana sandwich for lunch and I had to inform him that he cut the banana in the wrong direction. We always joked about the sandwich prep. Kitty and I enjoyed shopping in Williamsburg. I will never forget the beautiful baby shower she gave me for my daughter Amanda. Decorating was a fun topic as we would attend the Parade of Homes. Soon I moved to Poquoson and she moved down Lambs Creek, we had more fun decorating. Jimmy would stop by the dock and he would take Amanda for a boat ride. We always kept up with Kitty and as she moved to Warwick Forrest we would visit often. Kitty was a true Southern Belle with her kindness, superb manners, beautiful dress, and hospitality in her home. Kitty was a great friend and we enjoyed the fun times we spent with her.

So many memories of my Aunt Kitty. The house on Alphus Street in Poquoson is the one I remember the most: the dinner bell in the backyard, the "Surrey with the Fringe on Top" Uncle Jimmy built for Nancy and Mike. She cannot be remembered without Uncle Jimmy. They shared the best of marriages. Aunt Kitty was so welcoming to all the Ovide family and an enormous presence in our lives. My love to Mike and Nancy as well as my gratitude for sharing her with us throughout the years.
