Terry Karl Schoonderwoerd, 56, of Raleigh, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 29, 2017 at home. Terry was born March 12, 1961 in Hendersonville, NC to his parents, Pete Charles Schoonderwoerd of Newport, NC, who survives him, and the late, Salley Lemons Shuping,
Terry graduated in 1980 from Millbrook High School, and was retired after 30 years as a manager with the NC Department of Motor Vehicles. Retirement has been enjoyable working part time as cashier at a neighborhood Kroger Store. He especially loved his family, fishing, cruising, and performing magic tricks for children.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife of 35 years, Susan Hamm Schoonderwoerd; daughter, Lauren N. Schoonderwoerd; and son, Scott C. Schoonderwoerd; grandchildren, Sky and Destiny; sister, Michelle S Warren; brother, Kevin N Schoonderwoerd; and half-sister, Jackie F Hull.
The funeral service is Saturday, Nov 4th, 2pm, First Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church,120 W Hargett St. Raleigh, NC 27601.
