Marilyn was born on May 4, 1929 in Fort Worth, Texas to Herbert and Mollie Stuckey where she grew up. After high school she was employed by Gulf Oil as a draftsman where she met her husband, George Dunton. They were married in 1954 and transferred to Midland in 1957. Marilyn, loved to serve and spent over 60 years of her life doing so up until her last few months. She was a teacher aide with MISD for over 40 years. She served at First Baptist Church in Midland where she was a member for 60 years. During her service there she worked in the nursery, preschool and children's areas and delivered Bibles to newborns through the Cradle Roll for over 20 years. She was a tireless, passionate and humble servant.
Known as MeMaw to her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to write them letters each week telling each about the others. She loved to spend time with each one. She was dedicated and disciplined in all she did. I knew Mrs. Dunton when I worked for M.I.S.D and she was always subbing either for myself or co workers and I got to know her and enjoyed working with her everytime she came to sub. Mrs. Dunton always shared about her children as well as her grandchildren and always kept me up to date on her grandchildren especially. She seemed to be very proud of all her children and grandchildren's accomplishments. I am very sad to know of her passing but I know she is leaving a great legacy behind for her family and for the rest of us as well and is with God now because her work on Earth is done. What a privilege that she has gone ahead of us to be with the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. May God bless the family with His peace that only He can give and not the world. Naomi Diaz

George and family, I am praying for you. Praising the Lord that Marilyn is home with Him. Her legacy of loving and following Jesus will continue on through generations.

We are of good courage, I say, and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. 2 Cor 5:8
