Carletta Ann Curling, 71, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2017.
Mrs. Curling was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Curling, a daughter Arlene Marie Curling and a sister-in-law Darlene Wellington. She retired as a secretary for Chesapeake Public Schools after 30 years of service and was a member of Holy Angels Catholic Church in Portsmouth.
Survivors include a daughter Amy Curling and Jason Snyder; a sister in law Christina Curling and husband James; a brother-in-law Scott Wellington; 2 nephews Brett Wellington and Michael Wellington and wife Melissa; 2 great nephews Josiah and Nathan Wellington.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 8p.m. at Rosewood-Kellum Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 11:00a.m. at Church of The Holy Angels 34 Afton Parkway in Portsmouth with interment to follow at Rosewood Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to The Kidney Foundation or The American Cancer Society.

I met Mrs. Curling years ago when we needed vehicles for our LEGO trips to the state tournaments. She provided the fuel cards. She always took time to listen to our adventures and was so friendly. I looked forward to having a brief but meaningful chat. You would have thought the team members were her own grandchildren.
