Mr. Leonard “Earl” Winkles, age 68 of McDonough, Georgia passed away November 5, 2017. He was born in Bremen, Georgia to the late Clendon Leonard and Blondy Marie West Winkles. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lana Brimer Winkles, daughters, Jacquelyn Marie Winkles and Heather Leigh Winkles and by a brother, Kenneth Winkles. Earl retired after 42 years with AAA Digital Imaging and was a past member of the McDonough Baptist Tabernacle for over 30 years where he drove the church bus, was an usher and worked in other ministries. He was a member of Peoples Baptist Church. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, hunting, golfing, travel and was very family oriented. He was also a breeder and showed German Shepherds. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Winkles; brother, Richard (Jean) Winkles of Woodstock; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Winkles, Jason (Emi) Winkles of Canton, T.C. (Kasi) Winkles of Canton, Hunter (Becky) Reagan of Moultrie, Luke (Hannah) Reagan of Evansville, IL, Heidi (Josh) Sechrist of Thomasville, NC, Anna (Buddy) Patrick of McDonough, Sheena (Marc) Stringer of Cedartown, Todd (Dolly) Frizzell of Winter Springs, FL, Dewey Laney of Winter Springs, FL; brothers in law and sisters in law, Terrence Hadfield of Rockmart, Melissa (Grady) Reagan of McDonough and Tricia Mikell of Winter Springs, FL; several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017 – 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Roger Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs. Friends may visit the family Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the funeral home. We sure will miss Earl. He was a good neighbor and friend. My daughter had a mystery clue birthday party one year and he willingly played the role of a cranky neighbor and when the girls got their clue from him, their eyes were as big as saucers because he did such a good job. He was a great guy. We are praying for Patricia and all of Earl's family and friends.
