Brooks was born on December 21, 1923 in Bulloch County, GA and went to be with his Lord on November 5, 2017 in Bossier City, LA. Brooks had a zest for life and enjoyed it to the fullest. He was an avid sports fan who had a special love for the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and shrimping in the Georgia coastal waters. Brooks loved tending to his flowers and working in his yard. He even helped his neighbors by keeping their yards up as well.
Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, William Fred and Maggie Williams; his wife, Mary Frances Williams; his brother, James Warren Williams; and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Linda W. Alford (Roger); his granddaughters, Nikki Alford Stuart (Joe) and Christina Alford Rinaudo (Jason); and great-grandchildren, Katherine and Caleb. Also left to cherish his memory are numerous family and friends.
The family would like to express their thanks to Rhonda and Jean and the staff of Hill Cross Hospice for taking such good care of Mr. Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations may be made to Hill Cross Hospice, 2323 Old Minden Rd. #600, Bossier City, LA 71112, or Immanuel Baptist Church, 7375 Hodgson Memorial Dr., Savannah, GA 31406.

Linda, we are so sorry for the loss of you dad. He was such a fixture on our block. I will always remember him and your mother swinging on the porch. Such wonderful memories. I know you will miss him too.
And he made a fantastic chocolate cake
