My prayers go out to the family during this very difficult time. He was such a good friend to me an always had a warm smile. He had such a big heart. Playing little league baseball through high school with Lil Freddy. He would make it between his shifts to come cheer us on. I can still hear his voice yelling come on wato get on base. An even if you struck out he had positive words. He was a very positive role model on the sidelines weather it was a lost or a win. I remember the impact he had on me as a child during Red Ribbon week an through JR. High an High School. He played such a major role in my life an many others. I truly lost a dear friend an I love you so much. You will be in my heart an prayers. R.I.P. Officer Dietz

My condolences to the Dietz family. I am currently retired from the Houston Police Department, but, back in the day, I was part of the State of Texas D.A.R.E. Training team that trained Freddy in his D.A.R.E. Officer Training School. My memories of Freddy are that he was a heck of a funny guy, but serious when it came to going back home and changing the lives of children In San Angelo! I am so glad to read in some of the articles and remembrances that Freddy is being remembered for his time in D.A.R.E. He made such a difference!! God bless him; he is free pain.

Our thoughts and prayers to the Dietz family, and extended family at SAPD. Freddy shared the gift of many light hearted memories with those fortunate enough to have known or worked with him. He was respected and loved by the thousands of young lives he touched during his decades of service to his community. Not everyone could say they made a difference in the lives of others...Freddy Dietz, Jr. could and did just that. In God's hands, may you rest in eternal peace.
