Jose Cruz Alvarez, 56, of Lemoore, Ca, husband of Rhonda Cotta Alvarez was born May 3, 1961 to Jose Alvarez Sr and Leonor Alvarez in Michoacán Mexico. He departed this earthly life Nov 4, 2017.
Jose graduated from San Fernando Valley High School and later obtained his mechanic license. He also obtained a computer technology degree from College of Sequoia, afterwards using his degree to work for Kings County. In the early 1980's, he began attending Lily of the Valley Church under the pastor-ship of Bishop Glen E. Neal, whom he loved as a father. It was at the Lily of the Valley Church that he was blessed with a daughter Priscilla Maria Alvarez with his former wife Shirley, who preceded him in death.
Jose was an avid reader spending countless hours studying God's word and the history of mankind. He loved cars and worked as a mechanic for over 30 years. He also became co-owner of a mechanics shop in Hanford Ca.
Jose loved his family with all his heart and in recent years welcomed the arrival of a new generation of nieces and nephews to the Alvarez family. He enjoyed traveling. In his earlier days, he loved model airplanes and cars, taking long car rides, attending car shows, watching movies, and collecting coins. Jose was an avid food lover and a wonderful father.
He is preceded in death by his mother Leonor Alvarez.
He leaves to cherish his memories: His wife Rhonda Cotta Alvarez of Lemoore Ca, a daughter Priscilla Marie Alvarez of Dallas TX, His father Jose Alvarez Sr of Los Angeles Ca; Three brothers Juan (Carmen) Alvarez of Utah, Jose Alvarez (Corina) of Los Angeles Ca, Robert (Gabriella) Alvarez of Los Angeles Ca. Two sisters Rocio (Dave) Phillips of Utah and Anna (Gilbert) Leos of Los Angeles; a host of nieces and nephews, church members and friends.
A Homegoing Service in his honor will be held Friday, November 17, 2017 at 6pm with Viewing from 5-6 pm, both to take place at the Lily of the Valley Church; 608 Vine Street, Lemoore. All are welcome to come celebrate his life.
