Michele Lynn Wert, 47, longtime resident of Aperion Care in Bloomington, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 2:57 p.m. at the nursing home. She was born June 28, 1970 in Bloomington, the daughter of Wendell and Kay Franz Wert.
Michele graduated from Raymond School in Bloomington. She lived and worked with the Marc Center in Bloomington for many years, sorting material until she became physically unable. She had been a resident of Aperion Care for the past 17 years. She loved puzzles, blocks, and visitors. She always waved, had a bright smile on her face, and loved to laugh. Michele thoroughly enjoyed small hand purses. She was a huge fan of Hello Kitty!
Michele is survived by her brother, Dwayne (Elaine Evans) Wert of Normal; her sister, Tammy (Sherrill) Leslie of Bloomington; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Carlen of Bloomington; five nephews, Chris, Devan, Glenn, Tyler, and John; and four nieces, Heidi, Tammy, Destiny, and Savannah.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Lova and Ilma Wert; and her maternal grandfather, Edward Carlen.
Services will be held Friday, November 17th at 10 a.m. at East Lawn Funeral Home in Bloomington. Entombment will follow at the East Lawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, November 16th at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Marcfirst of Normal.
