Graveside Services for Shirley Ragland, 79 of Lubbock, will be held at 2pm Saturday, November 11, at Resthaven Cemetary, under direction of Resthaven Funeral Home. Family visitation will be held Friday evening November 10th at Resthaven from 6 to 8pm.
She passed away Wednesday November 8th, at 2:45 am at University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Shirley Weathers was born December 19th, 1937 in Morton Texas to Elbert and Thursie Weathers. She attended school at Three Way, and Muleshoe, graduating from Muleshoe High School in 1956.
Shirley moved to California in 1956. She owned and operated Shirley Ragland Realty in Solvang, California. She moved to Lubbock in 1982, and managed Pat Walkers', later selling real estate. She retired in 2001, from the Texas Tech Health Science Center in Lubbock, after 14 years.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, Elbert Weathers in 1938, and her mother, Thursie Reid in 2015, one sister, Maqueline Ballard, and a very special friend, Sam Cox, in 2001.
Survivors include 3 brothers, Henry Reid and wife Sherron of Lubbock, Gerald Reid and wife Jessica of Andrews, and Wallace Reid of San Rafael California. 1 Sister, Glenda Tocci of Dennisport (Cape Cod) Mass., and many nieces and nephews.
