Mr. Perry Nathan Sheppard
age 57, of Wade, North Carolina
passed away on Monday, 6 November 2017, in Fayetteville, NC.
He was born in Christian County, Kentucky on 21 April 1960.
The son of the late Jimmy Sheppard, Jr. and Mary Louise Russell Sheppard,
Perry is also preceded in death by his niece, Kelley Marie Smith.
Also affectionately known as “Gumby Dammit,”
Perry enjoyed listening to and playing music, cooking,
writing poetry, playing cornhole (a backyard board game),
and shooting fireworks. He had a generous heart and
cherished spending time with friends and family.
Perry is survived by:
His daughter, Alicia Grace Sheppard of Fayetteville, NC;
His brother, Jimmy Windell Sheppard of Wade, NC;
His sisters Lisa MacQueen and Cindy Sheppard,
both of Wade, NC;
His nephew, Colburn Alan Sheppard
of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and
His grand-nephew Atticus Sheppard and grand-niece
Christabel Sheppard, both of Colorado Springs, CO.
A celebration of Perry’s life will be held from two p.m. until
after dark on Saturday, 18 November 2017, at the home of
Victor Gurganious in Fayetteville, NC.
Perry’s siblings are working on a memorial website, which will
