Ruth Irene (Floyd) Bryant of Waynesboro, was promoted to glory on Friday, November 10, 2017. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and Christ-follower, Ruth was the widow of the late Forest Bryant, Sr. and was also predeceased by her parents and 10 siblings. She was a simple and immensely-caring woman, who taught her children and those around her the virtues of love, compassion, forgiveness, and the ability to always see the best in others; putting them always before herself.
Ruth lived a full life to the age of 94 and was blessed to have lived longer than anyone in her immediate family. She leaves to cherish her memories and life lessons three adoring children, Forest Bryant, Jr., Belinda Fitzgerald (Garry), and Ken Bryant. She is also survived by grandchildren, Troy Fitzgerald (Kelly) and Jennifer Fitzgerald, along with four great-grandchildren, Aaron, Austin, Jaelyn, and Alexis.
Additionally, she is survived by two beloved sisters-in-law, Christine Strickler and Sarah Floyd, along with many special nieces, nephews, and friends who enriched her life greatly. She also leaves behind a special friend who was like an adopted son, Russ Arthur, and a special caring friend, Marjorie Terrell, along with her "second family," the loving and caring staff at Oak Grove Manor Assisted Living, who cared for Ruth as if she was their own mother.
The family would also like to thank Hospice of the Shenandoah for their care, compassion, and love for Ruth during her final months of making a difference in this world.
Family visitation night will be held on Monday, November 13, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Home. A celebration of this loving and feisty woman's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Hebron Baptist Church, 66 Tanbark Dr., Afton conducted by her good friend and brother-in-Christ, Pastor Billy Coffey.
The family also requests that the service be viewed as a "celebration of her homecoming" and encourages those who knew Ruth to honor her by practicing the same selfless loving spirit in their own lives. She is now in the loving, caring arms of her Heavenly Father and without doubt has heard those words "Well done my good and faithful servant."

My sympathies to all Mrs. Bryants family. It was my great privilege to have met and get to know this good woman. I know she will be missed but I also know she left a lot of herself behind in her children, grandchildren and all the people who's lives she touched.
