Teodulo Juarez Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 11, 2017.

Teodulo Juarez, lovingly known as "Ted/Lolo," passed away into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2017 in San Antonio after a long illness. He was born February 17, 1932. A native San Antonian, Ted grew up a few blocks from the Alamo. As a boy, "Lolo" shined shoes and washed dishes in downtown cafes to help support his family. He attended Fox Tech High School. Upon his honorable discharge from the US Army in 1952, Ted returned from Korea where he was awarded the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars. He was employed at Kelly Air Force Base and enjoyed a long civil service career before retirement.

As a longtime active member of the San Antonio Target, Hunting and Fishing Club, Ted enjoyed shooting his collection of rifles, annual deer hunting trips, and socializing with friends. Blessed with a great memory and life experiences, you could count on him to make a funny face, or say something witty that would cause a room full of folks to explode in laughter.

Those of us who knew Ted are better people because he lived. He taught us the value of family bonds and will live in our hearts and minds. So dad, until we meet again!

He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan E. Juarez and Marina Enriquez, siblings: Marina Gonzalez, Susie Juarez; Juanita Clark, Sophia Gonzalez, Ascension Juarez, Francisco Juarez and Jesse Juarez.

Ted is survived by his devoted wife for 66 years, Ernestine Juarez; sons, Juan Juarez (Belinda) and Benito Juarez (Diana); grandchildren: Benito Juarez Jr. (Amy), Erik Juarez (Jennifer), Matthew Juarez (Monica), Dominique Juarez, and Marina Juarez; 9 great grandchildren, brother Lucio Juarez, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to Dr. Charles Rabinowitz, Dr. Jamil Malik, and Linda Hill APRN for many years of providing outstanding healthcare. Also appreciated is Dr. Stella Yu, Ted's primary physician for several years. In the last stages of life, Kendrick Hospice provided great care and support.

The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Services will continue at St. Paul Catholic Church, 350 Sutton, Monday, November 20, 2017 with a 9:15a.m Mass of Resurrection and interment to follow in Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery at 10:45 a.m. For online tributes please visit www.SunsetNWFuneralHome.com

Ted, may God bless you and bring consolation to your family. Although our time that we spent together at the SATHFC was not as much as I would have liked it to have been, I always enjoyed talking to you. I never ceased being impressed by your knowledge and deeply appreciated the support you gave me. I know you must have been a great light in many people's lives. Rest in peace, brother.
