My condolences to the Slouffman family. Anne, along with her parents, were long-time family friends of my grandparents (Joseph and Florence Jirousek), my mother (Gabrielle Story) and her two sisters, Mimi and Yvonne. Through my mother and the American Czechoslovakian Club, I had the privilege of meeting Anne and her parents. One of Anne's relatives sponsored my grandparents' immigration journey to the United States in 1921. Anne will be forever remembered for her kindness.

Since 1964 when we first met this wonderful lady, on New Years Eve,and she had us eat her homemade turtle soup and spareribs, she treated us with dignity and respect as one of her own children and always had a kind word to say to us. Anna Slouffman will surely be missed by us!!

Dear Slouffman Family,

I can't even begin to tell you how THANKFUL I am for your incredible mother / grandmother / great-grandmother. My life has been forever touched by this incredible, loving human being, and I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am for your loving kindness with sharing her with us (the Chaffin family). She was so much more than a neighbor. Anne is someone we truly loved and for me personally, she is someone I will be forever grateful for. So many of my childhood memories carry so much happiness and joy because of her, and I will be forever thankful for her.

I have SO MANY MEMORIES with Anne, but one of my favorites is something that happened often when I was very young. I would go over to her home and visit with her, and I LOVED looking at all of the family photos she had hanging on the wall. My favorite photo was always this large family portrait of all of her grandchildren - from Tami and Angie, all the way down to Jonathan and Bobby. Anne taught me who all of her grandchildren were. She taught me their names, told me who was the oldest, all the way down to the youngest, who's grandchildren belonged to who and so much more. That portrait is how I learned who the Slouffman family is and how LOVING they are. I would come over and visit with her, and it was almost like a fun game as a little girl with being able to name everyone.

Thank you ALL for sharing this incredible human being with my family and I. We are HONORED to have had her in our life.

The best way I can describe Anne from my heart is "Loving Perfection," because she was the most loving, caring, tender-hearted human being and I am THANKFUL to have had such an amazing person in my life.

Tami, Angie, DT, Jenny and Robby -- Sending love, prayers and hugs to you all, with deep gratitude. - the Chaffin family
Roseann and JR -- My mom and I remember many times seeing you both over at Anne's house and those memories make me smile. (Roseann, I used to always ask Anne about you, and she always had a smile :-)
Jonathan and Bobby -- Thank you for the great memories of playing with Jason and I when we were little. I love those memories, and remember always asking Anne, "When are Jonathan and Bobby coming back over?!" :-)

Thank you ALL. We love you.
