LSU has lost one of its most devoted fans with the passing of Renee Thomas. Game day would find her glued to the television rooting for her Tigers.
Renee Tallman Thomas, 56, passed from this life Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Merit Health River Oaks, Flowood. We are assured that she found her place in Heaven.
On May 10, 1961, Renee was born in Shubuta, MS. Her proud parents were Etoile and Simon Tallman.
A hard worker all her life, Renee was presently employed at Gateway Tire Company in Flowood where she worked in sales.
Renee had an unsurpassed love for animals as evidenced by the number of cats that found their way to her and she never turned them away. No animal was to go hungry if she could help it.
She was also a big fan of Nascar and enjoyed the excitement of the races.
Many delicious meals were served by Renee as she was a wonderful cook, and had planned to prepare her famous gumbo for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday.
To know Renee was to love her. She had a contagious smile and a captivating personality. She was always ready to help anyone in need and not expect anything in return. She was a precious lady who will be missed by so many.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents, Etoile and Simon "Ace" Tallman; brother, Jimmy Tallman; and brother-in-law, Don Robinson.
She is survived by two daughters, Nicole Barnes of Crystal Springs, and Erin Inman (Drew) of Fairhope, AL; 7 grandchildren; sister, Elaine Robinson of Pearl; John Barnes, father of Nicole Barnes; very best friend, Ed Suthoff of Florence; and many extended family and friends who loved her and will miss her.
Visitation for Renee will be held 5:00-8:00pm, Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services will be at 11:00am, Friday, November 17, 2017, in the funeral home chapel with graveside services to follow at 2:30pm in the Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville.
Rest in peace, sweet lady. Your hard work on earth has been rewarded with your eternal home with our Lord.

My sister, my confidant, my support and most of all, my best friend. I was always so proud of you because for all that you had been through, you always managed to have a smile on your face. The nights are not the same without our telephone conversations although I still find myself talking to you. One comfort I have is that you always wished for a beautiful home - now you have one in the best neighborhood. Rest in peace my dear one, I will come see you one day,
Big Sis - Elaine Robinson

Renee was one of the kindest people that I have ever known. Not once did I meet anyone that said otherwise. Her influence and example will live on through all of those that she touched. She was truly a special soul and the world was just a little brighter with her in it.
Rest in peace Aunt Renee.
