Daisy was a very special lady. I met her when I was 16 and she taught me so much about becoming a woman, wife and mother. She was an amazing cook and taught me how to cook some of her specialties, one being her amazing coffee cake. I remember one time she was making a coffee cake and Dick was helping her by poking the brown sugar mixture down into the batter, his dad came into the kitchen and told him to get his fingers out of there, I guess he didn't know that was the secret touch to making it so delicious. Daisy was a very talented seamstress and made me many beautiful outfits. My kids still enjoy the picture of me and Cindy in our brightly colored jump suits. I remember helping Daisy with some of the minor details of making square dance dresses and petti coats for herself and many of their friends. She also made beautiful draperies for many of our homes. I would help her spread the fabric out on their living room floor to pin in the linings and such. Even as life took a different turn and I was no longer a part of the family, she never treated me any differently, we have always had a special bond. My sons and their families still enjoy many wonderful stories of life with Daisy. I have been so blessed to have Daisy in my life, and will always treasure all the time that we had together. I know that she is with the Lord and I look forward to the day of seeing her again.
