AURORE FURNIA Aurore Doiron Furnia was born in Matapedia, Quebec on Jan. 3, 1922 and died Nov. 12, 2017 in Columbia, SC. The daughter of Alfred Doiron and Louise Gallant Doiron, she was the oldest daughter of eleven children. She is survived by her children Ronald Furnia and Dawn (Furnia) Bennett, son-in-law Harry Bennett and daughter-in-law Kathy (Matoon) Furnia, seven granddaughters, and ten great grandchildren. She was married to Vernon Bernard Furnia for 68 years when he passed away on Jan. 28, 2015, also her youngest son Roger Alfred Furnia who passed away on April 18, 2012. Aurore Furnia was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed playing cards, bingo, and traveling. Special thanks to Pricilla Ann Tate and Kathy Furnia who were her caregivers for over eight years. A visitation will be held at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Home at 3915 Oleander Dr. Wilmington, NC on Friday Nov. 17th from 4pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be at 10am on Saturday Nov. 18th at the Coble Ward-Smith Chapel. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Russell Lida Mae Cook
We knew Vernon and Aurore for several years. Went to Myrtle Beach to see some shows. Played Bingo at the Elk Club and always had an enjoyable time. Aurore and Vernon was a good part of our lives. Sadly miss them both Russell & Lida Mae Cook.
