Christopher Noel Janda, 49, of Roswell, Georgia passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2017, after a long, courageous battle against cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). He was a loyal band booster parent, serving on the "roadie crew" at both Sequoyah and River Ridge High Schools. He also served as the RRHS Marching Knights Band Booster President for two years. Chris's hobbies included camping, backpacking, hiking, canoeing, and scuba diving. He was a gifted leader, a true friend, and incredibly strong and courageous. Chris was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all the lives he touched. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Mary Beth; his two sons, Nicholas and Patrick; his parents, Kevin and Lois Janda, of Albany, Georgia; his brother, Gregory, and his wife Angela of Dallas, Georgia; his parents-in-law, Thomas

Kevin and Lois, (and entire Janda family), we were so sorry to hear about the passing of your son. We were deeply
saddened yesterday to learn this. I hate that we didn't know him personally, from what we've read and your conversations about him, I know he was a fine person. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you both, as well as Mary Beth, their two sons, and the remaining family.

We as a family are privileged to have known Chris and our deepest condolences to Mary Beth, Nick, Patrick and his other family members. His leadership skills were second to none, whether it was Scouts or as Band Booster President at River Ridge. His legacy of involvement in 40+ Eagle Scouts, including our oldest Brennan, will endure forever. The world is a lesser place without Chris and Woodstock's light burns a bit lower now. May God bless Chris and look upon his life's work with fondness and joy.

So very sad to hear of Chris's passing. He was a great father figure to all boys who where lucky enough to be in his presence. We enjoyed our years watching him interact with the boys and the positive influence he had on all. Our son benefited from Chris's leadership in the scouts, as I am sure many others can attest. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this most difficult time.

Though young, Chris lived a successful life. He was a gallant man, and loving, kind, ambitious, full of life, and a loving father, husband and son. My heart goes out to the Janda family for his loss. For comfort, please reflect on God's promise for Chris at Job 33:30 to Bring back his soul from the pit to be enlightened with the light of the living. I pray this brings comfort and peace each day.

Mary Beth, we are all so deeply touched and find it hard to put into words what Chris meant to not only us, but hundreds of families in his lifetime. Through Scouts, band and his friendship, we have all been truly blessed. The bond Chris formed with so many young men will always be remembered and treasured. Chris lived his life with integrity, passion and humbleness, a true example of a great man! May God bring you and your family strength to get through this difficult journey.
