Alan Bond, age 56, began life in Cornwall, England. He was one of two boys born to Rachel and the late Hermon Bond. Alan moved to the US in 1982 and worked as a PGA Tour Caddy for 32 years. He met Kay McKechnie at the Shell Houston Open in the spring of 1988 and shared 26 amazing years. Their greatest joy together was raising their beautiful Anna Grace. Alan was passionate about golf, the Dallas Cowboys and cooking. He befriended people from many countries while at tournaments and rarely met a stranger. Alan Bond leaves behind his wife (Kay), daughter (Anna) of Euless, Texas, Mother (Rachel Bond), brother and sister-in-law (Graham and Claire Bond), all of Cornwall, England, along with numerous other family members.
He fought the good fight but after a year of battling Acute Myelogenous Leukemia, Alan succumbed. He will be memorialized in Cornwall, England and at a spring PGA tournament. In lieu of flowers, his family suggest donations be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (donate.lls.org).
