It is with great sadness that the family of James Alexander Rue (Alex) announces his sudden passing, on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at the age of 71 years at his home in Atlanta, Georgia. Alex will be lovingly remembered by his children Katherine and Jane, his former wife Elizabeth, and his wife Liwei. Alex will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Rocco, Quentin and Sophy, and by his sister and brother in law, Taffy and Bill Hoffer, and their children Gretchen, Charlotte, and Alex. Alex was predeceased by his parents, Bernard and Jean Rue of Evansville, Indiana. Alex was an accomplished lawyer, working for the Securities and Exchange Commission. He was devoted to his family, had a love of gardening, and cherished sunset beach walks when visiting his children and grandchildren in California.

It's been nearly five years since I learned of Alex's death, but I was informed by the son of a late-mutual friend who had no details. But now that I've found the obituary it's time to pay my respects.
I knew Alex from Evansville College and we've remained friends since. From our emails I knew he was dealing with prostate cancer and that he was very concerned.
News of his death was a shock and saddened me deeply. He was a loyal friend and I miss him.
I hope his loved ones have been blessed with comfort and peace.

I am very sorry to hear of the passing of your love James. May the family and friends find peace and comfort in God words find in the book of Isaiah 51:12, which says"I myself am the One comforting you. Why should you be afraid of a mortal man who will die And of a son of man who will wither like green grass?"

May the God of all comfort strengthen the family during this time of deep sorrow. Those who pass on, God keeps in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. My sincerest condolences. (Psalms 116:15)
