CHRISTINE HEIDE EDMUNDS
1924-2017

Our precious mother, grandmother and friend, Christine Heide Edmunds died on November 20, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She will be missed greatly by all she touched.
Christine was born on January 1, 1924 in a farmhouse near Wilmore, Kansas to Harry Benjamin and Myrtle Powell Heide. She had four siblings, Christine is survived by three loving children, Constance Kay Conroy (Don), Carol Ann Anderson (Terry) and Christopher Dane Atkin (Della), sixteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren.
On May 1, 1964 she married the love of her life, Dr. George F Edmunds Jr. They spent many years traveling the world for his work with the University of Utah. The stories she told about their travels were exciting to hear. She was a grade school teacher in the Salt Lake City School District for four decades and her advice was always invaluable to the people who were smart enough to listen.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers and sisters, her sons Howard R. Atkin Jr. and David Ray Atkin, and her grandson Trevor R. Black.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 S Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, Utah. Funeral services will be held Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Noon, with a brief viewing at 11 AM prior to the service at the First Baptist Church, 777 South 1300 East,
