Julio Luciano Jose Ernesto Pulido Maldonado, born Monday, October 26, 1931 in Panama, Republic of Panama passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 in Plano, Texas with his loving family by his side. Julio was the third child born to Petra Maldonado and Guillermo Pulido. He shared his childhood with siblings Graciela, Guillermo, and Teresa.
Julio grew up in Panama City, Panama and frequently spent time with his family in Chepo, a small town East of Panama City. Julio was affectionately known as "Chichi." As a youngster, he enjoyed listening to classic acoustic guitar with his father and friends.
Julio studied at La Salle High School and Civil Engineering at the University of Panama. He worked as an engineer and land surveyor for the Panama Canal Zone for more than thirty years. He had a passion for his work and was extremely skilled at conducting complex calculations requiring attention to detail.
Julio married the Jewel of his heart, Luz Amalia "Mayita" Subia on April 19, 1958. The couple raised four amazing children, Julio Jr., Eduardo, Fernando, and Edwin. They had a full life and their family was enriched with the blessing of daughter-in-laws, Betty Chen Pulido, Carmen Silvera Pulido, and Kelly Vine Pulido and then being graced with grandchildren; Solange Pulido, Eduardo Pulido, Javier Pulido, and Sabrina Pulido and great-grandchildren; Pierce James Patterson and Caton Edward Patterson. Mayita was Julio's best-friend and confidant. He was a loving husband and took great care of Mayita through her long and debilitating illness. The couple spent fifty-six blessed years of marriage together until her untimely passing on July 16, 2014. Julio was a caring, loving and humble man who put his family first. He was a man of his word, committed to providing for the well-being and safety of his family.
Julio loved poetry, classical music, played chess, and watched sports, particularly soccer and American football. He was a devoted Catholic and raised his family in the faith.
Julio is preceded in death by his parents, Petra Maldonado and Guillermo Pulido. Also, preceded by his wife, Luz Amalia Mayita Pulido, and by his brother Guillermo Pulido.
To cherish his memories, Julio leaves behind his sons; Julio Pulido Jr. (Betty Chen), Eduardo Pulido (Carmen Silvera), Fernando Pulido (Kelly Vine), and Edwin Pulido. Also grandchildren; Solange Pulido Patterson (Josh Patterson), Eduardo Pulido, Javier Pulido (Sarah Lockhart), and Sabrina Pulido. Also great-grandchildren; Pierce James Patterson and Caton Edward Patterson, and many extended family members and friends.
