Mary D. Hopmann was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 23, 1923, and died on November 20, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Draker; her husband, Frederick H. Hopmann; her brothers, Richard, John, Joe, Frank, and Bill Draker, and her sister, Madge Parkinson. Mary will be sorely missed by her surviving children,(and spouses) Frederick J. Hopmann, Chris (Marty) Hopmann, and Judy (John) Carter. She is also survived by her grandson, Jeffrey (Michelle) Schmidt and three great-granddaughters, Mikaila, Mackenzie and MeKenna Schmidt, and numerous nephews and nieces. A memorial service will be conducted at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10:30 AM. A private family graveside service will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Miramar Home Care, Converse, TX, for their love and support, and to Alamo Hospice of San Antonio as well as her numerous healthcare providers and their staff. Sympathy and prayers to the family. I did not know Mary, but I know Ric. He is an honest, hard working, good man. All indications that he was raised by great parents. Good job Mary. May you rest in peace.
