To the Friends and Family of Rich B. 12/1/17
So sorry and saddened to learn of Rich's sudden passing. I had the pleasure of working with him when he was a Guidnce Counselor at New FF HS, and when I was a school psychologist there. Rich always had an energy, positivity, and was an advocate for students. He cared about them, and tried to achieve the best solutions for kids. He worked at Danbury Youth Services as a Director in the beginnings of his career. Rich was kind and caring. May the company of good friends, good memories, as well as the a Higher Power be of comfort to you.
With Heartfelt Sympathy,
Karen L. Fischer-Perkins, MS, NCSP, LPC

I am stricken by the news of Richie's passing! I lived on Cornell Lane in Danbury. From our first day at Kindergarten through 6th grade, I walked to school every day with Richie and Eddie Fowler! We were joined at the bottom of Wooster Heights Rd by some of our cohorts from Southern Blvd.
I have many a story to tell about some of our conversations over those years.
Richie and I then, of course, went on to Main St School for Junior High and then onto the new DHS. I am fortunate that we remained friends for decades there after. I saw him a lot in the '80
s and 90's while my parents were waning. He, then, seemed to disappear from the DHS group. I missed him at our last reunion!!
Bottom line, this was a man who was integral to my life for decades!! I missed him a lot over the last few. I am incredibly saddened by this news. My heart goes out to all of you.
Sincerely,
Lorraine Chickering

Rich & I were best of friends for many years. We fished, skied and cooked together for years. Traveled to UConn BB games in Hartford , Storrs and Madison Square Garden, claimed, cooked and drank together on CapeCod, skied the slopes at MT Snow in Vermont. He sat at many a family table with both my wife's and me. We taught and coached together and shared confidences. I will carry the best of Rich with me for the rest of my life. God Bless

My thoughts and prayers are with Rich's family . May the Lord continue to surround them with family, friends and loved ones who will offer words of comfort. Rich and I got to know one another as co-advisors for the Class of 1984. A wonderful person with the kindest heart.

Mr. B was my boys' guidance counselor, an outstanding one,and one who was greatly missed when he retired. I will never forget his many kindnesses, including putting my son Josh's college application fee on his own credit card when he found out Yale wouldn't take my Discover card. Who does that!?! A wonderful, caring person like Mr. Barbera.

Hard to forget Richie. He was my first boyfriend (and my first kiss!) in 7th grade at Main Street School. I still have the Valentine's card he sent me then, filled with xxx's. I'm not surprised he was so loved by his students.
