Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 24, 2017.

Daisy Kathaleen George, 86, passed away November 20, 2017 in Tyler Texas due to complications from Alzheimer's Disease. She was born May 3, 1931 in Hodgesville, Kentucky. Daisy lived in the Appalachian Mountains until age four when she moved to Louisville, Kentucky with her mother. She graduated from Fern Creek High School, Fern Creek, Kentucky, class of 1949. After High School she joined the Air Force and served two years, finishing out her military career in Nashville Tennessee as a recruiter. In 1962 they bought a home on South Watterson Trail in Fern Creek and raised six children there. When her youngest child started school, Daisy went back to school as well. She graduated with honors and became a nurse in 1974. In 1981 they sold their Kentucky home and moved to Corpus Christi Texas. Daisy enjoyed sunsets on the beach, gardening, reading, and touring the Hill Country of Texas. In 1990 Daisy and Richard built a home in Bourne, Texas where their children and grandchildren enjoyed visiting.

Daisy is survived by her husband Richard of Richardson Texas; her children Michael Dennis (Felicita Irvin) George of San Antonio Texas; Mary Diana (Juan) Inurria of Houston Texas; Mark David (Joyce Chappell) George of Rockport Texas; Maria Donna (Scott) Graham, of Plano Texas; Martin Daniel (Julianne) George of Saginaw MI; Marie Debra (George) Shafer, of Litchfield Park, Arizona; Grandchildren Nathan and Adam Inurria; Sean and Evan Graham; Dalton, and Jacob George; Elizabeth, Timothy, Zachary (Lorayne) Shafer, and Stephanie (Levi) Leeder; Daisy also leaves four great-grandchildren, Grace, Titus, and Silas Leeder; as well as Zoe Shafer.

A memorial service will be held at Ted Dickey West Funeral Home, 7990 President George Bush Turnpike - Dallas, Texas 75252, 1pm, January 13, 2018. Cremated remains will be interred at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi.
