William Leonard Roberson, age 85, passed away on November 23, 2017. Bill was born on September 2, 1932, in Wilsonville, Alabama, to Dewey and Inez Roberson. He was the beloved husband of the late Leila Zabalaoui for 45 years. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his daughters, Maria Zabalaoui and Monica Scheel (Terry); grandchildren, Jason Comboy, Bethany Brinkman, and Sarah Scheel; and sister, Nona Faye Andrews of Birmingham, Alabama. Bill is also survived by his large extended family, who he loved very much. We wish to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and the love during this most difficult time. Our deepest gratitude is extended to the E.R. and Neuro ICU staff at Ochsner who took exemplary care of “Mr. Bill” or “Sweet William” during these last weeks. We are truly appreciative of the expert care, compassion, warmth, and kindness that was provided to both our father and to our family. We are so grateful of everything you have done and hope that his sassiness and jokes left you with a smile.
