LEWISTON: Della H. (Allen) Chase, 94, of Lewiston passed away peacefully on Friday November 24, 2017 at Marshwood Nursing Center in Lewiston with her family at her side. She was born in North Yarmouth on August 14, 1923 a daughter of the late Ernest and Ellen (Cushman) Allen. She was a graduate of North Yarmouth Academy in 1942 and worked for many years at Burnham & Morrill and Pineland Hospital.
Della loved to travel and a highlight of her many travels included an ocean voyage on the Queen Elizabeth II from Southampton, England to New York after touring England, Scotland and Wales.
Della was a caregiver at heart and her family was most important to her.
She is survived by her husband of thirty-eight years, Warren S. Chase and two daughters Teresa Phillips (Roger) of Brunswick, ME and Pamela Benware (Stanley) of Fairlee, VT. She also leaves behind three grandchildren; Cara Mearls, and Mark and Andrew Benware, ten great-grandchildren and two great, great-granddaughters, a sister, Marian MacPherson of Carlisle, MA and a brother, Kenneth Allen of No. Yarmouth. She was predeceased by her sisters; Frances Kingsford, Myrtie D'Ascanio and Eva Tuttle and two brothers, Ernest E. Allen, Sr. and Gordon Allen.

CHASE---Della H. (Allen), 94, of Lewiston died Friday November 24, 2017. A prayer service will be held at Fortin\Auburn on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 10am. Interment will take place at Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Auburn. Della always said her parents made Christmas such a special time in her childhood so the family is requesting any donations in her memory be made to Toys for Tots and Teens, c\o SHP Management, 7 Thomas Drive, Cumberland Foreside, ME 04110.
