Charles Berry Burns, 87, of Richland, Mississippi passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017. Visitation services will be held Monday, November 27, 2017 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lakewood Funeral Home in Jackson, Mississippi. Graveside service will follow in Lakewood Memorial Park at 12:00 pm.
Mr. Burns is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Wansley Burns; his parents, John Horace Burns, Sr. and Ethel Berry Burns; brother, John Horace Burns, Jr.; and his grandson-in-law, Spencer Crandall. Mr. Burns is survived by daughters, Leah Burns Lambert (Bill) of Jackson, MS and Tina Burns Spillman (Ricky) of Highland Village, TX; Granddaughters, Maggie Lambert Jones (Chip) of Richland, MS; Amanda Spillman Crandall of Rhome, Tx; Grandson Todd A. Spillman (Katy) of Galveston, Tx; and two Great-Grandsons, Braden Jones and Gavin Jones of Richland, MS, and many close friends.
Mr. Burns was a member of First Baptist Church of Richland, he was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his trip to “Momma’s Kitchen” for lunch every day. He is known as being a “Witty, smart, kind, and an all around southern gentleman”.
He was loved by his entire family and will be missed greatly. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a donation be made to your favorite charity.
