For the past decade and more, I have assisted Bill as his attorney. Bill was always a pleasure to work with and serve. More even than that, I always enjoyed my conversations with him (both on the phone and in person at his office) when, once we were off the clock, we would have the most interesting, and occasionally profound discussions on topics ranging from 1950s and 1960s baseball, the business environment in the Houston area since the 1960's, the best places to buy Kolaches in Fayette County, His Mercedes automobiles and my three 1980's vintage Mercedes diesels, certain passages of the Bible, issues we both were having with our knees, and all the fun and enjoyment he was having growing A-One and his plans for the future. A life of 74 years is a full life for many, but it seemed to me that Bill was just getting geared up for a run of another 10 or 15 years. I will always remember him as one of the most enthusiastic and upbeat men I have ever had the privilege to know and serve.

So sad and shocked at the passing of Bill, such a good, caring friend of many years. His generous hospitality to all who visited the beautiful Jesus' Living Waters was beyond compare. It is hard to believe that I will no longer hear his warm, welcoming voice that made me feel so loved nor see again, with my eyes, his joy in his beloved, beautiful Betty. but my heart is rich with memories. Onward, dear Bill. onward! We will surely miss you.
