Jevin Albert Davis, 44, passed from this life Monday, November 27, 2017, at Merit Health River Oaks in Flowood.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday, December 2, 2017, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.
Jevin was born April 23, 1973, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of the late James Albert Davis and Jo Ann Paternostro Davis.
A diesel mechanic for many years, Jevin owned and operated AJ Automotion.
Jevin was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Pearl.
Jevin had many special interests and he was most content when he had something to do or "tinker" with. He enjoyed animals, hunting, and tending the pool- anything to be outside. He also enjoyed IRacing and followed auto racing every second he could. Jevin was a devoted Saints and LSU fan. He was passionate about cooking, often creating his own dishes, and considered himself to be a true "grill master". Jevin loved to laugh, and he loved to make those around him laugh.
Jevin's joy in life was his wife, Amy, and their life together. He was a devoted husband and truly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jevin is survived by his wife, Amy Short Davis; step-son, Nathan Nusbaum; sister, Jeanne Peres and husband Tony; and father and mother-in-law, William and Linda Short; and nieces and nephews, Megan, Mason, Morgan and Logan.
Memorials may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure at ww5.komen.org or to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.

It doesn't seem that long ago when you were just a little boy and came to our home for visits & playtime. Jevin you and my son Jeremy (Brett) were always a playful bunch. I remember one time you gave your mother and I a scare by hiding outside when it was time to leave and go home. If it weren't for the giggles we heard coming from behind an old willow tree we might never have found you two.
My deepest condolences and prayers are extended to Amy, Jeanne and the entire Davis-Peres family. R.I.P. Jevin!
