Fernando C. Vidaurri, resident of Owasso and retired Senior Engineer Research
Fellow, passed away Friday the 24th.
A native of Texas, Fernando received both his Master's and PhD in Chemical
Engineering at Texas Tech University. He worked for Phillips Petroleum/Chevron
Phillips from 1957 to 2008 making him the company’s longest tenured employee.
Fernando worked his way up to complex manager at Borger, TX; served as Phillip’s
plastics recycling liaison to Washington, D.C; has been recognized as Oklahoma’s
Outstanding Professional Engineer ’96-’97; and received Chevron Phillips’
Research & Technology’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. Fernando is
survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Manuela Vidaurri; two sons; a daughter;
daughter-in-law; two grandchildren; a sister and two brothers.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Hilltop Memorial Park
Metrocrest Funeral Home and Stanley's Funeral Services.
