Eva Jackson, age 82, was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, November 28, 2017. She passed away peacefully at her residence in Lone Oak, Texas.
Eva was born on August 26, 1935 in Gotebo, Oklahoma to Virgil and Martha Cox. She graduated from Cowden Oklahoma in May of 1953. Eva married Tommie Jackson on August 29, 1953 in Quincy, Illinois.
Eva is preceded in death by her husband, Tommie; parents, Virgil and Martha Cox; siblings J.F. Cox, Lena Faye Copeland, Loyal Cox and Lois Robertson and grandson, Joshua Jackson. Eva is survived by siblings, Loye Gene Cox, Leda Novotry and Lucille Bryant; children, John Jackson and wife Margaret, Joan Smith, James Jackson and wife Hazel, Jeffrey Jackson, Janis Domingue and husband Dave and Joel Jackson; 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren to cherish her memory.
Eva worked a variety of jobs throughout her life which included Tupperware, Harris and Assured storage buildings but her most important job was being a mother of 6 children and a granny to many. She considered being a mother, granny and devoted Christian her most significant role throughout her life. Her children and grandchildren remember her as a kind, patient mother and granny who encouraged them and was always there for them.
Eva was dedicated to her family and loved attending church. She was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Christ in Duncanville, Texas.
Family, friends and others whose lives Eva touched are invited to Laurel Land Funeral Home, 6000 S. R L Thornton Fwy, Dallas TX 75323 at 12:00 pm on December 2, 2017. Burial will immediately follow at Laurel Land Memorial Park, Veterans Garden III cemetery. Bro. Melvin Blalock will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Eva's life. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice staff for their love, care and dedication towards Eva.
