A memorial service will be held for Judith Ann Miller on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 11:00 am, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 4300 North Market St.
She was born in Chisholm, Minnesota on October 1, 1943. She died on November 23, 2017. She attended Martin Hughes School, kindergarten thru 12th grade. She attended Virginia Junior College for 2 years and then graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. in Education /minor in Mathematics. During her teaching career, she taught Preschool, 4th grade, and remedial math 9th to 12th grade. She taught 6th grade Sunday School. She was also the Adult Basic Education Coordinator for Northwest Missouri State University. Judy and her husband Paul started and ran Miller Equipment Company for 11 years. She worked several different jobs including Secretary and Office Manager. Her retirement job was as a cashier at Super 1 Foods, where she loved working with people.
Judy was active in her community and church, always ready to volunteer. She was Girl Scout Troop Leader for her daughter Laurie. Judy loved growing roses, cooking, going to the beach and loving her 3 cats and 1 dog. She loved life, had an infectious laugh, and was a wonderful caregiver to her mom and her husband Paul. She was blessed with a granddaughter, great-granddaughter, and great-grandson.
Judy was preceded in death by her husband Paul, her brother Jan Dawson, and her parents Mary and Albin Glavan. She is survived by her son Mike Miller (Amy), daughter Laurie Miller (John), brother Fred Glavan (Ann), sister Cindy Ruppe (Dave), brother Tony (Her Favorite) Glavan, and various nieces and nephews.
Thank you to Dr. Leslie Sewell, Dr. Tivakaran, and Willis Knighton Hospice for wonderful care. Huge heartfelt thank you to Mom's amazing Angel and Caregiver for 5 years, Super Janet Cooper, and Janet's whole family! Let's all band together to stamp out Alzheimer's disease.
