To the children of Steve and Bernice, our deepest sympathy on the passing of Steve. Steve and I shared adjacent offices for many years while on the faculty of Animal Science at MU. We were not aware that he spent his last few months here at Lenoir. We are saddened by his passing and our hearts go out to you. Steve's friendship was "top-notch" and we are sorry we could not attend the services. Milton Bailey and Liz

I always enjoyed visiting with Steve and Berniece. You could show up unannounced, and be eating a full meal in about 15 minutes. Steve never forget where he came from, and always took time to visit his old neighbors on Evanko Road. He told me numerous times about how my grandparents (Evanko) helped his family during hard times when he was growing up. He never forgot his past, as he accomplished so many things in his life. My wife (Debbie) said that when Steve talked with you, YOU were the most important person in the room. We are so glad we knew him well.
