Although there is sadness in our hearts for our loss, we are thankful for God's Grace and the countless blessings of a Christian mom and nana. Her sweet spirit and agape love touched many lives throughout her lifetime. She taught us all to love others regardless of the color of one's skin or the fate of ones circumstances, never condemning but always encouraging. She was a faithful member of Amherst Baptist Church for over a half century, where she was a light to the preschoolers and their parents.
In her last days, though, she had her membership transferred to her home church, Union Christian in Madison Heights, where her dad had given land and resources to help begin the ministry.
A funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at 3 p.m. at Whitten Monelison Chapel with Union Christian Pastor Jim Freeman officiating. Interment will follow at the Union Christian Church cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 until 3 p.m. at the Whitten Monelison Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Union Christian Church, 160 Parsonage Rd., Madison Heights, VA 24572.
