Whitney Zinner Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 2, 2017.

Whitney White Zinner unexpectedly passed away December 1st, 2017 after suffering a massive blood clot. Whitney was born December 21, 1965 in Tarrytown, New York. She attended Ravenscroft High School and The University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill where she graduated with a degree in economics. After graduating, Whitney was passionate about her career in advertising and marketing where she merged her business skills and fashion sense. Her charismatic personality, innate business acumen and aesthetic appreciation led her to excel in a field that she loved.

Although she loved her career, it paled in comparison to the love she had for being a wife and mom. She could not have been more proud of her three amazing children and her love for them and for her husband was completely selfless and devoted. She especially had a heart for serving her community and a love for all furry creatures, especially her cats. Whitney was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother and friend. Her sense of loyalty and her dry sense of humor made her a friend to everyone she met.

She is survived by her husband, Clifford Tod Zinner, children Mattison, Joshua and Molly, parents Skip and Linda White of Wake Forest, sisters Kim, Melinda and Laurie. The WGN will never be the same.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00pm at the Zinner family home on December 3. The Memorial Service will be held at the church where she worshiped, White Memorial Presbyterian Church, on Monday, December 4 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Urban Ministries of Wake County, 1390 Capital Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27603, where she was a faithful board member.

Peace to your family at this sad time. Whitney's dedication to serving the less fortunate through her work at Urban Ministries of Wake County was a powerful example of her faith and love. We remember the children selling raffle tickets during Stone Soup events and the countless hours Whitney volunteered to make each event successful. I was so sad to hear of Whitney's sudden passing. I was a classmate of hers, at Ravenscroft HS, and always remember her as a kind, gentle and gracious soul. I was a newbie to the south then, from Los Angeles CA, and she was so lovely and very welcoming towards me, making the transition easier. I know she will be so missed by all those who knew her, and I send my deepest condolences and loving thoughts to her family at this very difficult time.
