Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 2, 2017.

Mr. Max Wayne Hill, 88, of Thomasville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 at the Hinkle Hospice Home.
A resident of this area all of his life, Mr. Hill was born on September 22, 1929 in Davidson County, a son to the late Harvey Jordan and Lula Bell Lambeth Hill. He retired from Thomasville Furniture Industries and attended Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church for many years. Mr. Hill was an avid reader and a thirst for all knowledge. He was a diehard Atlanta Braves fan and enjoyed spending time outdoors wood cutting, mowing, and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Mae Scarlette Hill and brothers, Billy Joe Hill and Norris Lee Hill.
Surviving are daughters, Merilyn Hill and Karen Whitman and husband Anthony; grandchildren, Dawn Bush and husband Mike, Bryan Hughes and wife Amy, and Kelly Walker and husband Jonathan; great grandchildren, Jordan, Madelyn, Kinlee, Will, and Harper; sisters, Betty Hill and Pattie Thompson; and sister-in-law, Ruby Hill.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 am Monday, Dec. 4 in the chapel of Thomasville Funeral Home with Pastor Wilson Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 pm Sunday, Dec. 3 at Thomasville Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church Building Fund, 222 Mt. Zion Church Road, Thomasville or to the Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all nurses and caregivers at Hinkle Hospice House for the special love and care for their dad.
