Laura M. (Devlin) Obermeyer, age 68, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017. She was the loving wife of Joseph "Jerry" Obermeyer to whom she was married 21 years.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY a daughter of the late Walter and the late Mae (Fletcher) Devlin, she was a longtime resident of the city with time also spent in Orlando, FL.
A warm homemaker, she was a caretaker to all. She enjoyed putting together her family's ancestry and traveling.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Robert Rivera and Joseph Rivera and six grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, Maya, Erin, Melissa and Christopher. She was the mother of the late Michael Rivera and sister of the late Robert Devlin, Hannah Pardee and Helen Hoffman.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Cherry Place, 178 Winter Street, Fall River. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 AM in the funeral home prior to the service. Contributions may be made in her honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Burial in St. Patrick's cemetery, Fall River.
